Karimunjawa Islands

Karimunjawa are islands in the Java Sea are included in Jepara, Central Java. With a land area of 1,500 hectares and waters ± ± 110,000 acres, Karimunjawa now developed into a tourist charm Marine Park which began much-loved local and foreign tourists.
Based on the legend that circulated in the islands, Karimunjawa Island was discovered by Sunan Muria. The legend tells of Sunan Muria are concerned about the mischief his son, Amir Hasan. For the purpose of educating, Sunan Muria then ordered his son to go to an island that appears “kremun-kremun” (fuzzy) from the summit of Mount Muria that the child can deepen and develop the science of religion. Because it looks “kremun-kremun” then called the island of Karimun Island.
Since the date of March 15, 2001, Karimunjawa Jepara set by the government as a National Park. Karimunjawa is home to coral reefs, mangrove forests, coastal forests, and nearly 400 species of marine fauna, including 242 species of ornamental fish. Some of the rare fauna that are here are Sea Eagle White Chest, hawksbill and green turtles.
Plants that characterized National Park Karimunjawa namely Dewadaru (Crystocalyx macrophyla) found in lowland rainforest.
Waves at Karimunjawa is low and tame, which is mostly limited by the beach is the beach of fine white sand.
Publications of more than 8,000 people in the five inhabited islands. The three main tribes inhabiting Publications are Javanese farming and producing household appliance, Bugis sailors reliably is so living as fishermen, and Madurese fishermen but also has the advantages of making dried fish.
Education in Karimunjawa already reaching out to high school level. In addition to having approximately 10 SD (five in Karimun, three in Kemujan and one each in Parang and Genting), Publications also has one junior high school, junior secondary school (MTs), and SMK majors Seaweed Cultivation and Fishery Products Processing Technology which is free schools, and the Madrasah Aliyah in Kemujan.
